“Toda Mabasa” voices award-winning hip-hop artist

David Chitate (Mariachi) was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Harare. He is an award-winning hip-hop artist and a former member of the supergroup MMT. He has four official albums to his name the current one being "Mzukuru". He has a new single titled “Toda Mabasa” which is a direct message to the Government. He told OyOsNews that the track is a social commentary in rhyme form, speaking about harsh realities.
Toda Mabasa” simply means 'We Want Jobs'. The purpose of this song is to transform young people all over the country to have a questioning mentality. You look around everywhere and the narrative is the same, highly educated people with no means to earn a living and industries closing on a daily basis. The youth have watched their dreams fade into oblivion and have lost hope for a better future. Singing this song for me was a way to address the current pain we are experiencing as well as reaching out to my fellow brothers and sisters hoping that when they hear this message they will know they are not alone in this
