Freshlyground coming back after a historic performance at HIFA

Freshlyground
This famed South African Afro-fusion band return live at the Jam Tree, Harare on the 12th of October after leaving fans in asking for more at this year’s HIFA. Formed in Cape Town in 2002, their music style blends elements of traditional South African music (such as kwela and African folk music), blues, jazz, and features of indie rock and their lyrics skip between just as many traditions.

The show is being sponsored by Nedbank and supported by some of Zimbabwe's best talents, Blessing Chimanga and Rob Macson. Tickets are available at Jam Tree from the 26th of September going for $15 pre-sales available at the Jam Tree/$20 on the night.

Freshlyground became the first South African musical act to receive honours from MTV when they received the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act in Copenhagen in 2006. They are best known for their performance "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" with Colombian singer Shakira, which received worldwide recognition.
