R Peel
Tanaka Mungoyo with the stage name R Peel is a 23-year-old Zimbabwean hip-hop artist pursuing an Economic Degree at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), told OyOsNews that becoming the biggest hip-hop superstar is one of his biggest dreams.

He released his first album last year titled ‘Zviri Ever Beautiful’ the album received a overwhelmingly positive feedback from the listeners. He is inspired by family and music as he grew up listening to urban grooves music. He started singing urban grooves then changed to hip-hop.

He said, “I am an economics student at UZ, my dream is to become the biggest hip-hop superstar in Zimbabwe. I want to prove that the mother tongue is the most important tool when composing hip-hop because it reflects where you come from. Most of my songs are a mixture of Shona and English but Shona dominates my lyrical content. I want to achieve a big fan base among Shona hip-hop listeners.”
