King Koffi Olomide to invade HICC, will he fill it?

Koffi Olomide
Koffi Olomide is the latest rhumba artist to come and perform in the mighty Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Friday 3 August but the big questions still remain, is going to fill it.

Previously another rhumba artist, Fally Ipupa failed to completely fill the venue but there was a considerable crowd that witnessed the fine performance from the Congolese artist. To avoid the same scenario the promoters of the event have targeted big guns making headlines in Zimbabwe music that is Alick Macheso, Winky D, and Sulumani Chimbetu to help him fill the venue.

Olomide was born on 13 July 1956 in Kisangani, DRC. His mother named him Koffi because he was born on a Friday. He grew up in a middle-class family, without any musical background. During his youth, Olomide improvised by singing popular songs with his own lyrics and altered rhythms until a neighbor taught him how to play the guitar.
