Dereck Mpofu advocates for a clean environment with a new song

Dereck Mpofu
OyOsMusic signed up artist who is the environmental ambassador for Zimbabwe under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate and City of Harare, Dereck Mpofu recently released a music video titled ‘Muregedze’ which is a campaign for a clean environment.

Throwing trash on the side of the road and on the ground looks bad, but it also hurts animals and plants. When you throw your trash on the ground instead of a garbage bin, it is called littering. The trash on the ground is called litter.

The songs talk about how people have become so ignorant about conserving the environment. People throw litter everywhere yet bins are there, it should be also a wakeup call for the responsible ministry and organizations to put up laws that stifle such behavior.

Besides being the goodwill environmental ambassador, Mpofu is an innovative award-winning environmental musician, philanthropist, author and social entrepreneur. The use of music to communicate about environmental and health issues has seen him traveling in Africa and beyond singing and presenting on such issues.
