Decibel bemoans the state of music industry in Zimbabwe

Decibel
Crowned King of Zimbabwe Urban Grooves at one point, his music became so popular that his first single ‘Nakai’ went to number one in the first two weeks of its release, Decibel is grieved by the state of the music industry in Zimbabwe which he says it is not favoring musicians.

“The state of the Zim music industry is in dismay it has no record sales and not much in the way of royalties from radio stations, being an experienced professional scientist which is a highly sought after position in England, it was a no-brainer. The science was paying way more than the music, having a family also meant that I have much less free time so something had to be given up. Two choices either do music full time and make less money or do science and make more?” he told OyOsNews.

Decibel who graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2002 with a degree in biochemistry and also did sound engineering which he finished in 2011 said he is different from many upcoming artists who are producing plenty of music with the same vibe.
