Charly Black heads to Harare, a brief look at his music career

To see the growth of his career over the years is heart-warming, Charly Black was born and raised in Rio Bueno, Trelawny in Jamaica. From as early as age 5, he started singing, winning countless singing competitions, proving that he would be a great talent in the years to come. Before he started singing professionally his first job in the music business was as a selector.

Starting out on a sound system in Montego Bay, called ‘Warlord Intl’ Charly Black then moved on to join Bass Odyssey Entertainment. Charly's first single as an artist, ‘Woman It's You’ was recorded in 2004 when he was a teen. He then followed this up in 2005 with ‘Going To The Party.’ In 2007, his hard work began to pay off when he got his first hit single ‘Nuff Nuff Luv’ on the Nuff Luv Riddim produced by Mark Bartley of Bass Odyssey.

After that Charly became unstoppable with a series of hits such as, ‘Rich This Year,’ ‘Bike Back,’ ‘Wine and Kotch’ and the one that makes a lot of noise ‘Gyal You A Party Animal’ produced by Kurt.

‘The Party Animal’ Riley which has taken his career to new heights, and quickly made his debut on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with his smash hit in 2014, The single went viral in Spain and Colombia and the sales sharply rose making Charly Black a diamond-selling artiste. On 4 August Charly Black will be performing at Long Cheng Grounds.
