Reggae music easily accepted outside Zim: Jah Warria

Zimbabwean reggae artist Jah Warria said people outside Zimbabwe loves reggae and wishes if they have reggae artists who can produce the same quality of music produced by Zimbabwean Reggae artists.

OyOsMusic signed up artist, Jah Warria was born 30 years ago and he grew up in the dusty ghetto streets of Glen View, and later on, moved to Glen Norah. He studied creative art and design.

“From my observation, I have come to realize that Reggae music is not popular outside Zimbabwe but it is easily accepted because of the influence it has and its message is real and lasts longer compared to other genres,” he said.

Jah Warria said Zimbabweans promoters and producers have subdued his genre and it is up to him and other Reggae artists to resurrect it.

Music journey

From a tender age, Jah Warria used to sing in church and school choir he, later on, decided to pursue his musical career more professionally in 2007.

Jah Warria teamed up with Dr. Dread who is among the top reggae producer in the country. They produced an eight-track album that was released in February 2013 under the label High Definition Records.
