Bob Marley tribute at EastPoint tonight

British born founder of "Crucial Mix", Ras Trevor Hall, Templeman and Gary B, Vedu All Female Band, House of Stone, Wellaz, Dr. Dread and Lawrence will tonight perform at EastPoint in Harare in honor of Bob Marley.

Ras Trevor Hall, as he is popularly known, has worked in Zimbabwe since the early days of independence as a consultant, musician, producer, events manager and television presenter. He has been in the music business for 38 years, most of them in Africa.

“As reggae artists, we have always been fans of Bob Marley's music.

“This is noted in our performance of Marley's songs or (adaptations of them) in some of our tracks,” said Dr. Dread.

Many reggae artists have performed several tribute concerts to Marley. However, this time they decided a small venue because they want the audience to fully join in.

Robert Nesta Marley was a Jamaican singer-songwriter who became an international musical and cultural icon, blending mostly reggae and rock steady in his compositions. Born February 6, 1945, Nine Mile, Jamaica and died May 11, 1981, University of Miami Hospital, Miami, Florida, United States
